Mark Dodson passed away at 64 years old. He appeared in Gremlins and Star Wars.
Approximately 170 miles southwest of Indianapolis, in Evansville, Indiana, the star is reported to have passed away while attending a fan conference.
According to TMZ, Mark suffered a “massive heart attack” while dozing off at his Indiana hotel.
The actor’s daughter Ciara confirmed to the news source that her father had passed away while attending Evansville Horror Con in 2024.
Ciara claims that her father “always made me proud.”
Mark was supposed to attend the gathering on both Saturday and Sunday.
Twister’s Sean Whalen, Ghost Hunter’s Jason Hawes, and Jackass’ Bam Margera were also on the talent list.
In addition to participating in paid photo ops and autograph signings with fans, Mark was scheduled to speak on a panel on Sunday.
A few days ago, Mark posted an Instagram advertisement for his presence with the hashtags “Come see me this weekend in #Evansville #horrorcon #starwars #gremlins.”
Mark was best known for his voice work on the Gremlins movie series, but he did voice work for nearly 40 years.
He provided the voices of various Star Wars characters in motion pictures and video games, including Salacious Crumb in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
Mark’s final appearance as Adam Hamada in the Ghostrunner II video game last year.
He offered “every character and script he touched” “his unique voice and sound,” according to the actor’s manager, who spoke with the news source.
In remembrance of the actor who had passed away, they said on their Facebook page, “We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Mark Dodson last night.”
The group remarked, “Mark was not only a gifted voice actor but also a beloved member of the horror community.” Our condolences and thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans during this terribly difficult time.
