Confidence plays a crucial role on a wedding day, and this bride exuded it effortlessly. She defies societal norms by showcasing her gray hair as a beautiful and sophisticated attribute.
A heartwarming moment went viral on July 2 when Miami makeup artist Tia Codrington posted a TikTok video of her client, Kadeja Baker, looking stunning with her natural gray hair on her wedding day.
Codrington shared her appreciation in the caption, saying, “I adored my bride’s beautiful gray hair. She’s had it since she was 16.” This act of self-acceptance unexpectedly went viral, gaining 1.4 million views and 170,000 likes.
“I initially didn’t have any expectations when posting the videos other than to share her beauty through my eyes,” Codrington said. “But witnessing how she embraced and embodied the beauty of her hair was something I felt compelled to share.”
Codrington expressed astonishment at the fact that Baker had the choice to alter her hair color for her wedding, but instead decided to embrace her natural hair color. Prior to planning her wedding, Baker was not active on any social media sites. During an interview, she confessed to being genuinely surprised by the immense attention her video received, describing the response as abundant and uplifting.
Baker was surprised by the sudden popularity and humbly admitted, “I never imagined that the responses would be so abundant. I see myself in the mirror every day and didn’t realize that embracing my natural hair and appearance was such a big deal.”

The bride, who is 38 years old, was pleasantly surprised by the extremely positive feedback she received on social media. Kadeja revealed that it took her a long time to truly embrace her own hair after it started turning gray during her teenage years.
Although she had doubts at first, the support and inspiration her video brought to others touched her deeply. Appreciative of the kind words, she modestly expressed, “They believe I am accepting myself, but I want to thank them for understanding it that way and letting it inspire them. Thank you for accepting me.”
