The main singer of the Raspberries, Eric Carmen, passed away at the age of 74.
The singer’s wife announced his passing to the public in a letter on his website.
“We share the heartbreaking news of Eric’s death with great sadness,” Amy Carmen stated in a statement.
Our gentle, devoted, and gifted Eric passed away quietly in his sleep over the weekend. He was pleased that so many people have been impacted by his music for many years. This will be his enduring contribution.
“Please allow the family some privacy as we mourn this terrible loss.” “Happiness Is Everything.” “Sincere and Eternal,” she declared.
Carmen was the group’s front lady during the 1970s and 1980s.
John Eddie, a vocalist, remembered Eric Carmen, the lead singer of the Raspberries, on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Sad to hear that Eric Carmen has passed away,” the artist wrote.
The Raspberries was a band I really liked. Rock ‘n’ roll fans will find Go All The Way to be the ideal single. I purchased their debut album with the scratch and sniff sticker for that reason.
“The Raspberries’ Greatest Hits is one of my all-time favorite albums.” Even the less excellent tracks on the CD are still really quite fantastic.
“I went to one of those AM radio fests and saw the Raspberries live.” It happened at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. It was either WIBG or WFIL. The cost of the ticket was roughly 99 cents. On the bill were Slade, The Raspberries, Lou Reed, Jim Croce, and Stevie Wonder. It was absurd!
“I’m old and only remember those acts on the bill; there may have been others.” Anyhow, the child that lives inside of me, who is now in his late forties, is having a bad day. “Thank you for the raspberries and may Eric Carmen rest in peace,” he uttered.
Abandoned by his spouse
Eric Carmen’s wife, Amy Carmen, announced his passing to the public on Monday.
